At General Admission we understand the importance of individual privacy. In this  statement, we explain generally how we protect your personal information.

  • If you sign up to “Stay in Touch” we will keep your contact information in a database so  that we can contact you in the future. If you don't want us to do so, please tell us and we will remove your contact information.

Privacy policy

Our Privacy Policy was last updated on May 29, 2023.  

This Privacy Policy describes our practices in connection with the information collected from our  Sites, through our online advertisements on third-party Sites, and through vendors/sources from  which we source information. 

This Privacy Policy applies to the information we obtain from individuals interacting with us and  our Sites, products, and services. It does not apply to information we obtain in our capacity as  an employer. 

1. Definitions 

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • “Company” (referred to as either “Westleaf Labs”, "the Company", "we", "us" or "our" in  this Privacy Policy) means Westleaf Labs LP. 
  • “Information” means Other Information and Personal Information. 
  • “Other Information” includes, but is not limited to, your opinions, requests for certain  products or services, information regarding products or services we may receive from  you, preferences, purchase patterns, any other information related to the Products or  Services gathered due to our relationship with you, geolocalisation, and demographic  information. 
  • “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual, that  identifies the individual such as name, date of birth or age, email address, and telephone  number, as defined by applicable law”. 
  • “Products” means cannabis products, as well as related accessories, offered for sale  by the Company;  
  • “Services” means retail sale and online sale of cannabis, as well as related  accessories; 
  • “Site(s)” means the Company website, social media pages that we control, promotional  sites, widgets and mobile sites and applications, our rewards programs, blogs,  interactive applications, email and text messages that we send to you, and other digital/ online properties on which these terms are posted or referenced (unless a different or  additional policy is provided on a particular site, application, or service, in which case  such different policy shall govern and control).
  • “You” means the individual accessing or using the Sites.

2. Accountability 

We take the protection of Personal Information seriously. We have specific procedures in place  to protect your personal information.  

We require all employees, contractors and agents to comply with these obligations.

While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain Personal Information that can  be used to contact or identify you. Personal Information may include, but is not limited to:

b. Other Information 

While using our Site, we may collect Other Information including, but not limited to, your  opinions, requests for certain products or services, information regarding products or services  we may receive from you, preferences, purchase patterns, any other information related to the  Products or Services gathered due to our relationship with you, geolocalisation, and  demographic information. 

To the extent permitted by applicable law, any Personal Information may be combined with any  Other Information that you provide to us through other channels, that is publicly available, or  that we may otherwise obtain, including from third parties. 

c. Cookies 

Cookies are small text files containing small amounts of information that are downloaded and  may be stored on your user device, e.g. your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Techniques we  use that may be similar to cookies are tracking pixels, Java scripts, tags, and web beacons.  

These cookies and similar techniques are sometimes necessary to remember your account  settings, language, and country. They also enable us to measure and analyse your behaviour on our Site and are required to show you personalised advertisements on our Site or on third party Sites. Where required, you will be asked for consent to our use of cookies.  

4. Collection and Use of Information  

We only collect Information as is reasonably required to provide Products and Services to you  and as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy. If the Information we require is collected for a  reason other than as outlined in this Privacy Policy, your consent will be obtained before or at  the time the Information is collected.  

We may collect and use your Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • To deliver the Products and Services to you;
  • To enable your use of the Sites;
  • To personalize and improve the Site, Products and/or Services;
  • To address inquiries, complaints, submissions, and feedback relating to the Products,  Services and/or the Site;
  • To compile your Personal Information to generate de-identified data (data with identifying  information removed) for use by Westleaf Labs and its affiliates for business and  research and development purposes;
  • To contact you to promote and advertise our Products and Services to you;
  • To store, copy, or back up your Personal Information for delivering the Products and/or  Services to you;

  • To verify compliance with agreements between you and us, including the Terms and  Conditions of Use associated with the Site and delivery of the Products and/or Services;
  • To conduct questionnaires or research about your opinion of current Products and/or  Services, as well as new products and/or services that may be offered in the future;
  • To comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and
  • To achieve other purposes, from time to time, as may be permitted by law. 

We may share your Information in the following situations:

  • With service providers: we may engage other companies and individuals (“Service  Providers”) to make some or all of the uses of the Information referred to above on our  behalf, and/or to perform some or all of the Services on our behalf. Service Providers  may require or be provided with access to your Information in order to make some or all  of the uses of the Information referred to above on our behalf and/or to perform the  Services on our behalf. We make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that all  Service Providers acting on our behalf provide a level of protection for your Personal  Information comparable to the level of protection that we provide. 
  • Within the Company: We may upload, move, store, process, back up, transmit, and/or  transfer your Personal Information between any of the Canadian provinces in which we  operate to enable us to use the Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy  Policy. We do not store any of your Personal Information outside of Canada. We may  disclose your Personal Information to any of our employees, officers, insurers,  professional advisers, agents, Service Providers, suppliers or subcontractors, to the  extent that such disclosure is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this  Privacy Policy.  
  • With Law Enforcement: We may also need to provide Personal Information to law  enforcement bodies in order to comply with any legal obligation or court order.
  • For Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your personal information in  connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets,  financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.  

By providing your Information to Westleaf Labs, you consent to us using your Personal  Information for the purposes outlined above. 

Any Personal Information provided by you, or that is derived automatically by or through the Site  and/or the Services, is not sold, rented, or shared by us with any third party without your  consent, except as described in this Privacy Policy. 

5. Accuracy and Access to Personal Information 

You may view your Personal Information on file with Westleaf Labs and may request that  corrections be made to such Personal Information. Any requests to view or correct your  Personal Information on file with Westleaf Labs can be directed by email to news@generaladmissioncannabis.ca

 

6. Consent 

Westleaf Labs obtains your consent to collect, use, or disclose your Personal Information,  except where no such consent is required by law.  

The method of obtaining consent depends on the circumstances and the sensitivity of the  information. Consent may be oral or written, express or implied. Your express consent (verbal,  written, or electronic agreement) is obtained to collect, use, or disclose sensitive personal  information. Implied consent is obtained in circumstances where a customer relationship already  exists, express consent has previously been given, or the purpose of using the personal  information is reasonably apparent to you. You can change your consent preferences at any  time by contacting news@generaladmissioncannabis.ca 

You may “opt-out” or withdraw your consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your  Personal Information as set out in this Privacy Policy at any time. Withdrawal of your consent  may result in the Products and Services or certain aspects of the Products and Services being  unavailable to you. After withdrawal, Westleaf Labs reserves the right to limit your access or  prevent you from accessing the Products and Services, through the Site or otherwise. 

7. Limiting Collection, Use, Disclosure and Retention of Personal Information  

Westleaf Labs may collect Personal Information in many forms (for example, hard/soft copy,  electronically, email, etc.), but will only do so by lawful means and only for necessary purposes  that have been disclosed to you, are described in this Privacy Policy, or are permitted or  required by applicable law. 

We will not keep Personal Information for any longer than is necessary for the purposes  identified in this Privacy Policy. Personal Information no longer required will be destroyed,  erased, or made anonymous. 

8. Safeguards  

We will take appropriate technical, physical, and organizational measures to protect the  Personal Information collected through the Site from misuse or accidental, unlawful, or  unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, acquisition, or access, that is consistent 

with applicable privacy and data security laws and regulations. However, no internet-based site  can be 100% secure and we cannot be held responsible for unauthorized or unintended access  that is beyond our control. 

9. Social Media and Third- Party Policies 

You may choose to share information on our Site via social media, such as Facebook,  Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Accordingly, the information you share, with name and  preferences, will be visible to visitors of your personal pages. We advise you to carefully read  the privacy policies of the social media parties, as these are applicable to the processing of your  Personal Information by these parties. 

The Site may include hyperlinks to, and details of, third-party Sites or Internet resources.  Company does not endorse, approve of, verify, attest to, or offer any representation or warranty  with respect to the accuracy of the content of such linked Sites. If you decide to leave the Site  and access these third-party sites, you do so at your own risk. 

We cannot control any policies or terms of such third-party social networks. As a result, we  cannot be responsible for any use of your Information or content by a third-party social network,  which you use at your own risk. 

10. Access Restricted to Persons of Legal Consumption Age 

ACCESS RESTRICTED TO PERSONS OF LEGAL CONSUMPTION AGE SITES AND ACCESS TO ALL ADVERTISING AND MARKETING INFORMATION ARE INTENDED ONLY FOR PERSONS OF LEGAL AGE OF USE BASED ON THE JURISDICTION  WHERE SUCH CONTENT IS BEING ACCESSED OR VIEWED. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO  VERIFY YOUR DATE OF BIRTH PRIOR TO ENTERING OR INTERACTING WITH A SITE.  AGE VERIFICATION PROMPTS MAY ALSO BE LOCATED WITHIN THE SITES. 

WE DO NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM THOSE UNDER THE LEGAL  AGE OF USE AND REQUEST THAT SUCH INDIVIDUALS DO NOT PROVIDE ANY  INFORMATION (DEFINED ABOVE TO US OR ACCESS OUR SITES. IF YOU ARE UNDER  THE LEGAL AGE OF USE IN YOUR JURISDICTION AND HAVE ENTERED OUR SITE BY  PROVIDING A FALSE DATE OF BIRTH, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE SITE. IF YOU  BELIEVE SOMEONE UNDER THE LEGAL AGE OF USE HAS PROVIDED US WITH  INFORMATION BY OBTAINING ACCESS IN VIOLATION OF THE APPLICABLE SITES’  ACCESS RESTRICTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY AND THIS INFORMATION  WILL BE REMOVED.

From time to time we may review and revise our privacy practices and this Privacy Policy. In the  event of an amendment, an appropriate notice will be posted on our website.  

Your continued use of our Sites and/or provision of Information to us after any amendments  constitutes your acceptance of, and agreement to, this Privacy Policy as revised.
